How Gap Year Planning Works
Not sure where to start? Have a few gap year ideas but aren't sure how to turn them into a plan? That's exactly where we come in. Erica's collaborative gap year planning process helps students and families move from possibilities to a personalized, intentional experience.
1. Student + Parent Questionnaires
We start by getting to know you. Both the student and a parent or guiding adult complete a brief questionnaire about interests, goals, priorities, concerns and initial ideas for the gap year.
2. Complimentary Consultation
Next, you'll meet with Erica for a complimentary consultation. It's an opportunity to get to know one another, talk through what you're considering and begin exploring what a successful gap year might look like.
3. Discovery
Once you decide to work together, Erica digs deeper into the student's interests, goals, personality, readiness and priorities. Together, you'll begin defining the experiences and outcomes that will make the gap year meaningful.
4. Program Research + Recommendations
Using her extensive database of vetted gap year programs and resources, Erica researches opportunities that align with the student's goals, interests, timeline and budget. Rather than sorting through hundreds of possibilities on your own, you'll receive personalized recommendations selected specifically for you.
5. Planning + Preparation
Once you've identified the right experiences, Erica helps turn the ideas into a plan. Depending on the service you choose, that may include program applications, timelines, travel logistics, budgeting, preparation and other details needed to confidently launch your gap year.
